Testimonial

"Starting at a very young age, I began to

submerge my feelings, in particular my

fears and by going to "Dissolve My Fear"

workshop, I was able to dedicate some

time out of my busy schedule to take

care of me and my outlook on life.

Julie has a healing vibe and her

workshop provided me the time, place

and opportunity to invoke some of these

fears I hang on to and then to release

them with the confidence and true belief

that all I am doing, where I am at this

very moment, is beautiful, right and an

opportunity to be authentic. Thank you

Julie!  I am excited to continue this path

of facing major issues with love."

 What are the Accomodations Like?

Accommodations are rustic, but clean and comfortable.  If you

are looking for a fancy hotel with alarm clock, television, internet

and perks, this is the wrong retreat for you.  Accommodations

allow for a connection to the earth (you will have complete

protection from the elements), silence, clean fresh air,

community, and simplicity.  You will have all of the benefits of

camping without the worry about weather! Below are some

 basics:

Above left:  Dome dwelling                                                                          Above right:  Yurt dwelling
Below left:  Inside dome dwelling                                                                 Below right:  Inside yurt dwelling

 - Domes and yurts will have a futon-like cushion for sleeping (sheets, pillow, and/or sleeping bags need to be brought with you)

- Fully protected from the elements

- No air conditioning or heat, but fresh air openings are built in

- Shared occupancy with one or two other people

- Domes and yurts are separate from showers and restrooms, however the showers and restrooms are private, clean, flush-able, single-occupancy spaces.  For photos, please click here.

- NO internet, alarm clocks, tv, electrical outlets.  Electricity is available in the council house, where workshops are held. Cell phone service is generally available in some areas on the land.

- All dwellings are along nature paths.  There are no paved roads or walkways, so this retreat is not conducive to physically handi-capped people or those who cannot handle a little dirt along the way.  Prepare to touch the earth and love it!

- Summers in Ojai are warm to hot, with cool evenings.  If you have extreme heat sensitivities or cannot do mild to average walking/hiking, this is not the optimal retreat for you.

- The land and accommodations have little to no light.  This provides the opportunity to see a REAL night sky, complete with stars, planets and the milky way!

- This land if FULL of beautiful wildlife.  Last time I was there, two baby deer lived there, birds, roadrunners, rabbits, and more.  Prepare to see animals!

- Staying on the Ojai Foundation land is an absolute treat!  Tap into the child within as you settle down to your sacred space at night and allow the magic of nature to make its way into your heart...

space available.

TESTIMONIALS

"I recently attended the first of the series of workshops facilitated by
Julie Hoffenberg entitled "Dissolve Your Fears - Rejoicing in the Unbiased
Nature of Fear."  If you are unsure about whether to attend one of Julie's
workshops, I encourage you to attend.  I had never been to a workshop on
confronting fears, nor had I attended a workshop using the "council" format.
Julie made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked into the room.  A
sense of peace pervaded the room as I looked at the relaxing and inviting
environment set up for us to do our "work."  Julie's calm demeanor and sense
of humor helped create an open and unintimidating atmosphere in the room.  I
am not one who feels comfortable sharing vocally in group settings, so that
was a challenge for me.  Nothing was forced on me, however, and I was free
to "pass" or talk, as I felt comfortable.  Come with an open mind, come with
an open heart, come with a desire to learn whatever you are meant to learn
that particular day - but by all means, come.  You will not be
disappointed."
